In this role, you will lead the Manufacturing and Finishing Operations team at Abbott’s Landhi Plant in Karachi.
Requirements:
- Prepare and monitor operational plan for efficient use of resources (materials, labor, overheads).
- Ensure manufacturing conditions comply with Abbott policies, EHS standards, regulatory requirements, and cGMP.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, security standing orders, and business code of conduct.
- Provide necessary resources for high-quality product production.
- Conduct initial and ongoing training for production personnel, including GMP training.
- Coordinate with Quality for audits, complaints, returns, and trend analysis.
- Collaborate with Technical Center, Engineering, and Supply Chain for quality problem resolution and uninterrupted product deliveries.
- Prepare annual plant budget in consultation with Finance.
- Create a master schedule considering all demands and drive manufacturing, purchasing, and engineering activities.
- Review and approve technical documents, manufacturing directions, validation documents, etc.
- Identify and eliminate non-value-added activities.
- Support employee development, goal setting, performance assessment, and succession planning.
- Handle any other tasks assigned by the Director of Manufacturing.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications:
- B.Pharm/Pharm.D required
- 10 years of experience in manufacturing and finishing operations
- Knowledge of drug rules, cGMP requirements, and quality standards
- Understanding of supply chain management in multinational companies
- Awareness of operational finance and capital budgeting
- Familiarity with business excellence and new product development activities
