The Principal Software Engineer will be a key member of the digital transformation team at Zones. The Zones Solution is based in Islamabad.
Experience:
- Experienced and skilled in Computer Science and distributed systems.
- Proficient in designing, developing, managing, and scaling enterprise-grade SaaS platforms across private data centers, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiar with agile processes and principles.
- Interest and knowledge in e-commerce processes and double-sided marketplaces.
- Strong desire for continuous learning and exploration.
- Excellent ability to solve complex problems.
- Skilled in effective communication to collaborate with multiple stakeholder groups.
- Capable of innovative and creative thinking
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of technical design and implementation strategies for the Zones Digital platform.
- Collaborate closely with senior engineering management, program management, and product line management to guide designs involving interdisciplinary teams.
- Serve as an expert in a specific technical area, providing expertise and insights from a software and system level perspective.
- Document and develop specifications for components and subsystems, as well as material requirements.
- Provide technical expertise and support to other engineers and support personnel.
- Interact with technical management, professionals, technicians, and support personnel to coordinate, recommend, and discuss technical activities and progress.
- Mentor and coach the work of others as assigned, sharing knowledge and guidance.
Experience:
- Over 10 years of experience in engineering, with a track record of continuous growth and advancement.
- More than 5 years of experience as a principal software engineer, supporting enterprise software.
- Extensive experience, spanning over 5 years, in supporting e-commerce or payment systems.
- Expert-level proficiency in developing microservices using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Experience in designing, building, and deploying systems for projects.
- Proficient in programming languages such as C/C++, Java, Python, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
Qualification:
- A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
