As a Specialist in the Dean’s Office of the Medical College, your main responsibility will be to create written and visual content for various communication channels, including print and digital platforms. This content will effectively convey the institution’s activities and achievements to both internal and external audiences. You will be involved in crafting regular communications from the Dean, developing content for the Medical College’s website and digital magazine in Pakistan, contributing to newsletters, and participating in relevant publications by the University. Additionally, you will assist the Dean in preparing speeches, handling media-related tasks, and promoting the strategic plans of Aga Khan University Medical College (AKUMC).
- Collaborating closely with MC departments to create content for academic, public relations, marketing, and advertising materials.
- Ensuring that the content is creative, accurate, and aligned with the University’s and MC’s overall messaging.
- Assisting MC leadership and faculty in identifying compelling stories, selecting suitable print and digital channels, and maximizing their impact.
- Preparing and editing content for brochures, advertisements, and event-related materials in both print and digital formats.
- Contributing to the development of video content for MC, Pakistan to be shared on various platforms for internal and external stakeholders.
- Writing, editing, updating, and proofreading content for the MC website, in coordination with department leaders and content writers.
- Managing the MC website and supporting departments with their communication needs.
- Providing communications support for selected MC events, including creating event-specific key messages.
- Assisting the Dean and other MC leaders in writing speeches and presentations.
- Responding quickly to media requests for stories, interviews, photos, and footage.
- Supporting the MC Communications team and the Dean’s Office in various projects and assignments as needed.
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Two to three years of relevant professional experience in writing content for various communication channels.
- Experience in using other media, such as video, to effectively communicate messages and promote the institutional mission (an added advantage).
- Previous experience in the higher education or healthcare sector.
- Exceptional writing skills to create clear and impactful content for different media.
- Experience in video storytelling (an added advantage).
- Familiarity with digital publications (an added advantage).
- Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with faculty and staff across the Medical College.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external clients and stakeholders.
- Proactivity, self-drive, and capability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Active listening and effective verbal communication skills.
