Become a Construction Estimator at AE Solutions
The Construction Estimation Engineer is responsible for creating precise and top-notch estimates for construction projects. This role involves using software tools like PlanSwift and Microsoft Excel to calculate quantities and costs accurately. The Estimation Engineer collaborates with project managers, other estimators, and stakeholders to review, analyze, and validate estimates. The main objective is to ensure that the estimates are of high quality, thorough, dependable, and meet the project requirements and industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Use PlanSwift software to calculate quantities and create accurate estimates based on project drawings and specifications.
- Work closely with project managers and stakeholders to understand the project’s scope, specifications, and goals.
- Ensure timely submission of estimation projects with a focus on maintaining high quality.
- Collaborate with estimators and project teams to resolve any discrepancies and ensure accurate and timely preparation of estimates.
- Create and manage standardized templates, spreadsheets, and databases using Microsoft Excel to support the estimation process.
- Establish and implement quality control procedures and best practices for estimation activities.
Requirements:
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum one year of proven experience in construction cost estimating.
- Proficiency in using PlanSwift software for quantity takeoffs and estimating.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for creating and manipulating spreadsheets, formulas, and templates.
- Must have a personal laptop and a stable internet connection.
- Strong knowledge of construction industry standards, materials, and processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills to identify errors and inconsistencies in estimates.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively communicate with stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with other construction-related software tools and technologies is a plus.
- Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and work under pressure.
- Able to make changes and revise estimates based on client requirements.
