Lead the Way: Code for Pakistan is Hiring Managing Director
Code for Pakistan is seeking an exceptional and organized individual to join them as a Managing Director. They are looking for a passionate and fearless leader who is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of Pakistanis. The role involves both hands-on contribution and overseeing programs, operations, and growth. The Managing Director will work closely with the Board and be responsible for managing the organization and a potentially large volunteer base. This is a full-time, permanent position located in Islamabad.
Responsibilities
- Â Lead and manage the organization, including staff, by providing coaching and development to build high-performance teams.
- Â Set and achieve strategic objectives, ensuring alignment with the organization’s vision and mission.
- Â Plan and manage finances, including budgeting and resource allocation.
- Â Develop and execute the organization’s vision, mission, and long-term sustainability plan.
- Â Expand and enhance existing programs while exploring new opportunities for civic innovation in public services.
- Â Build partnerships with government, private sector, and civil society organizations for business development.
- Â Represent Code for Pakistan’s vision, strategy, and values to stakeholders and prepare team members for effective communication.
- Â Improve organizational systems and practices to enhance capacity and workflow efficiency.
- Â Foster a culture of learning and engagement among the team and volunteers.
- Â Track, evaluate, and report on program impact.
- Â Continuously learn and improve through project retrospectives.
- Â Recruit, retain, and develop talented team members.
- Â Proactively solve problems to maintain progress and momentum.
- Â Ability to stay calm and work well under pressure and exhibit good judgment, and ideally, a sense of humor.
- Â Experience working with large and high-level stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- Â Over 12 years of experience in areas such as business development, technology/product development, international development, social enterprise, public sector, community engagement, or other fields relevant to civic tech.
- More than 7 years of experience in managing people, including both managers and volunteers.
Skills and Experience:
- Â Excellent problem-solving, budgeting, strategic planning, and implementation skills.
- Â Collaborative, inclusive, transparent, and proactive leadership style.
- Â Should have management skills with empathy, empowerment, and accountability.

- Â Strong process and operations management skills.
